Older wool, newer synthetics

Yes, when the temperature and products suit wool. We test first, avoid harsh alkaline cleaners and make sure the carpet is left as dry as possible. Shrinkage and browning come from overwetting and the wrong chemistry, which we avoid.

Can you treat a red wine stain that has been there a while?
