Living at the foot of the Dandenongs

Ferntree Gully in the City of Knox sits at the base of the Dandenong Ranges, and many homes are on sloping, leafy blocks. Steam cleaning in a cooler climate

Steam cleaning is the most thorough way to remove mud, pollen and fine soil from the base of the pile. Carpet is normally dry in one to three hours, and in Ferntree Gully’s cooler weather it helps to run the heating on low or keep a fan going, with a window open for airflow. If you would rather not deal with any damp carpet, or you need the room straight away, dry cleaning uses very little moisture and the carpet can be walked on as soon as we finish.

Afterwards, keep shoes off the carpet for the rest of the day and put a stiff mat outside each garden door. A slow weekly vacuum of the hallway through autumn and winter stops leaf grit from building up again.
