Point Cook mattress cleaning, at home
We clean mattresses in Point Cook homes on the bed, so there is nothing to carry out or wait for. Each mattress is inspected, stains are pre-treated, then it is cleaned by low-moisture dry cleaning or hot water extraction and deodorised, and it is dry and usable by the same evening. Ask through the quote form for a fixed price before we begin.

Allergies, asthma and the bed
If someone in the house wakes up sneezing or wheezing, the mattress is a good place to look. Dust mites feed on the skin flakes that build up in the top layers, and their droppings are one of the most common indoor allergy triggers. You cannot see them, and airing the mattress in the sun or a quick vacuum only reaches the surface.
A proper clean extracts much more of that allergen-laden dust from the top layers. For allergy-prone households, we usually recommend a thorough hot water extraction where the cover allows it, followed by a fitted allergy protector once it is dry. Our articles on dust mites and mattress cleaning and whether dry cleaning removes allergens explain the detail.
Newer homes, mattresses bought together
Point Cook, in the City of Wyndham, is mostly newer housing built since the late 1990s, and many families furnished the whole house when they moved in. That often means a set of mattresses that are now the same age and all due at once: the main bed, the kids’ beds and a guest room mattress that sees visitors a few times a year.
Doing every mattress in one visit is the simplest way, and it all goes on one fixed quote. Guest mattresses are worth including. Sitting unused, they gather dust and can smell stale, and a clean before visitors arrive makes a real difference.
Kids’ beds tend to need the most attention. Spilled drinks, sweaty summer nights, bedwetting and the odd stomach bug all leave marks and smells. Blot accidents with cold water as soon as they happen and avoid bleach or hot water, which can set the stain. We do the rest on the day.
Which method for which mattress
- Memory foam and latex: low-moisture dry cleaning, because foam holds water and should never be soaked.
- Pillow-top and quilted covers: low-moisture, to keep the padding from getting heavy and damp.
- Firm innerspring with a tight cover: hot water extraction for the deepest clean.
- Heavy sweat marks or old stains: usually hot water extraction after a targeted pre-treatment.
- Children’s accidents and pet urine: an enzyme treatment first, whichever method follows.
Helping it dry, and keeping it fresh
Strip the bed fully before we arrive, including the protector, and put the linen in the wash. After the clean, leave the bed unmade with the window open or a fan running until it feels dry, then fit a protector before the sheets go back on. Rotate the mattress head to foot every three months and vacuum it when you change the seasons.
A good waterproof protector is worth every cent, especially on a child’s bed. Choose a breathable fitted one rather than a crinkly plastic cover, and wash it every week or two with the sheets so it does its job.
If you are booking a mattress clean, the couch and carpet can be added on the same visit. Our carpet cleaning page for Point Cook covers the floors, and fabric lounges are explained on our upholstery cleaning page.
Questions from Point Cook customers
Do you clean mattresses in Hoppers Crossing and the rest of Wyndham?
Yes. We cover the whole of Wyndham and metropolitan Melbourne with no travel charge, as part of our western suburbs work.
Can you clean an ensemble base as well?
Fabric-covered bases and bedheads can usually be cleaned on the same visit. Tell us when you request a quote.
Will the mattress smell after cleaning?
It should smell clean, not perfumed. A faint damp smell can linger while it dries and then fades. Old urine smells may need a second treatment if they have soaked very deep.
How long before we can sleep on it?
Mattresses are dry and usable by the same evening. A morning booking gives the most time, and good airflow helps.
