From the family room to the spare room

Fabric dining chairs need a lighter touch

Upholstered dining chairs collect food and drink spills, greasy fingerprints and the marks from children’s shoes on the front edge. The seats are often thin padding over a timber base, so we keep the moisture low and work carefully around the timber so it is not marked. Drying, and keeping the couch clean

Fabric couches and chairs are dry in four to six hours. Open windows, run a fan or put the heating on low to help. Keep the seat free of bags and laundry until it is fully dry, because damp fabric picks up marks quickly.

After that, a weekly vacuum with the brush tool does more than anything else to stop dust working into the weave. Throw a washable cover over the spot where the dog likes to sit.
